Following plenty of food on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and more to come, a bike ride was definitely required! So on Boxing Day morning we left the hotel and set off on a cycle ride to Poole. We headed down the cliff to Bournemouth town centre. We picked up the Bourne Valley Greenway (part of NCN 25) which runs alongside Bournemouth Lower, Central and Upper gardens. The last time this ride appeared in the Stockport Community Cycling Club calendar it ended up being abandoned half way round as a washout. One of the best cycle routes in the UK has to be the coastal cycle path along the North Wales coast (i.e. sections of National Cycle Network routes 5 & 8). I write this whilst sat in the passenger seat of a car on the A55 on the way home from an excellent SCCC Club Weekend in Bangor. We stayed at Bangor University. Saturday We set off early on a lovely Saturday morning to meet up with everyone at Chester Services.
