We had arrived in Dolgellau, at the end of Day 2 of our Mid Wales cycle tour, in the rain. For Day 3, on what looked like another hilly route, this time from Dolgellau to Porthmadog, the day at least started dry. Porthmadog – Monday Evening

Having had very enjoyable visits to first Criccieth Castle and then Harlech Castle, we headed off back to Porthmadog. We walked along the harbour down to Borth-y-Gest. Then headed back to Porthmadog along a different road. Considering the wet and windy weather for the rest of the day, it wasn’t too bad for our wander around the town.

Having had an enjoyable visit to Criccieth Castle, we headed off to Harlech to see the castle there. Having parked the car we decided to have our packed lunch before walking round to the castle. As we were eating, we watched the rain being driven horizontally by the wind! When we got to the top of the tower, the wind was so strong that it was hard to stand up.
