Scottish C2C Day 0 – Carlisle to Annan

The first part of our Scottish C2C adventures involved the journey to the start, and that meant boarding a train from Stockport to Carlisle, followed by a cycle ride to Annan. It was an overcast, but fine day as we left the house late morning.    It was lunchtime when we arrived in Carlisle. So we popped over the road to a cafe. E2E Day 14 – Carlisle to Sanquhar

E2E Day 14. Today was really great weather – in fact it was almost too hot! We rode through some great lanes this morning. We crossed the border into Scotland at Gretna. Then went through Aanan and on into Dumfries for lunch. After lunch we went out on the A76, although we did detour off for a while and went along some quiet lanes which basically ran parallel to the main road. In Sanquhar, we are staying at Newark Farm….
