Scottish Borders Coast-to-Coast Itinerary

Scottish Borders Coast-to-Coast Itinerary

This Scottish Borders Coast-to-Coast Itinerary outlines the cycle route Sarah and I will be following in early Autumn. We will be cycling from Gretna to Berwick-Upon-Tweed, all the while hugging the Scotland-England border, mainly on the Scottish side.  Mention the Scottish Borders and we picture big spaces: heather-clad hills, hundreds of square miles of forests and woodland, lochs and rivers. Scottish C2C Day 0 – Carlisle to Annan

The first part of our Scottish C2C adventures involved the journey to the start, and that meant boarding a train from Stockport to Carlisle, followed by a cycle ride to Annan. It was an overcast, but fine day as we left the house late morning.    It was lunchtime when we arrived in Carlisle. So we popped over the road to a cafe. Then it was time to head back to the rail station to meet the two other Andy’s.    Soon we were on…

Scottish C2C Itinerary

Scottish C2C Itinerary

Our Scottish C2C Itinerary follows a new cycle route put together by the creators of the original C2C; it takes you through the Southern Uplands of Scotland, from coast to coast. Sarah and I, along with our two friends Andy and Andy (yes, lots of Andy’s!) from Stockport Community Cycling Club in late Autumn. The route is described by Sustrans as ‘Linking Annan on the Solway Firth and South Queensferry on the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, the Scottish C2C is a…
