Speke of Flowers and Sunshine

Speke of Flowers and Sunshine

Saturday morning was grey and damp but we decided to visit Speke Hall anyway. It is about that time of year when the bluebells are out and if you time it right they can be quite spectacular there. We went last year but were a little too early then.

We drove through some awful rain on our way there and quite expected to get very wet. But when we got there the sun was out and it was lovely!  We had a walk around the edge of the estate.

We then went for a walk through the woods and found a wonderful blue carpet of bluebells!

Having sampled the restaurant, which did some great tea and cakes, we headed into the hall itself.

The hall itself is a Tudor timber-framed manor house and was very interesting to go round.

After the house, we had a quick walk around some of the gardens.

Before we could leave though, we just had to have a go in the maze by the entrance!

The hall and estate is all managed by the National Trust.
