SCCC Lancaster Club Weekend 2022
Usually, Cycleit2 has reviewed each Stockport Community Cycling Club weekend ride individually. However, for various reasons, for this Lancaster Club weekend 2022, we have decided to provide an overview review instead. Indeed, mostly photos with just a little text.
It has been a difficult year following the loss of our extraordinary club leader Jim Court. With that in mind, we decided to return to Lancaster for our club weekend. It would prove to be a welcome break for all who attended.
Saturday
The weekend began with us meeting at Broughton for a 20-mile ride up to the nearby Beacon Fell.
Group 1
As is usual with our cycle rides, there were two groups. The set of photos below follows the first group.
The ride included a tasty climb up to the cafe at the Information Centre.
The break was taken at Beacon Fell Information Centre
Group 2
Below is the second group taking a breather at the top of the ‘tasty’ climb.
We were staying at Lancaster University.

Before the evening meal, we had some time for socialising … and a pint.
Sunday
The following morning, it was bright sunshine as three groups met for a cycle ride out to Morecambe. Two groups would take a longer route out to the seaside, and a third group would take a more leisurely route.
Groups 1 & 2 – Longer ride

Group 3 – Shorter Ride
For our shorter ride we made good progress, so took a little time out on the pier.

For all, it was a fabulous short break and lots of fine cycling.
