Newton and Dean Row

Newton and Dean Row

Sarah was feeling wiped out when it came to our weekend cycle ride. It may have had something to do with the long run in stifling heat she had completed the previous day. Instead, Andy S stepped in for a socially distanced bike ride. It was the first time we had met up since the coronavirus pandemic lockdown had begun. We decided to head out to Higher Poynton and later Newton.

Of course, it also meant that all the photos for this blog posts would be taken by yours truly, and so even the rubbish ones are having to be included.

After heading out through Bramhall we turned into Towers Road, a familiar route out of Stockport recently.

From there we began climbing up to Higher Poynton by cycling up Coppice Road.

Next, we turned into Waterloo Road.

Then into Moggie Lane on our way to Adlington.

A little further on we joined Cowley Lane.

After dropping into Adlington we crossed London Road, and over into Mill Lane.

Continuing to follow Mill Lane we cycled through the edges of Prestbury.

Then Mottram St Andrew.

A little further on, we turned into Prestbury Road.

As we entered the edges of Wilmslow, we picked up Wilmslow Road and headed for Dean Row.

We were cycling back into Stockport up Woodford Road when we were inadvertently held up. It seems there must have been an accident here earlier.

After that, we followed the usual route Sarah and I follow when returning from Wilmslow. This took us up Blossoms Lane.

And then Moss Lane.

Before finally working our way around the back of Bramhall Park.

Andy and I had cycled just over 19 miles today. It had been good to catch up with him. We have talked on the phone, of course, but sometimes a chat while on a cycle ride cannot be beaten.
