Edinburgh at Night
Following our earlier walk around the city centre, we went to Travelodge Edinburgh Central Waterloo Place where were staying for the night. We had something to eat and then decided to sample one of Edinburgh’s recommended watering holes, The Last Drop.
Situated in the Grassmarket the historic market area in the Old Town below the castle our route to it was foreboding as we passed a number of shady looking places. However we arrived at the Grassmarket itself to find an open bright square surrounded by pubs.
The Last Drop turned out to be a lovely quaint and busy little pub with an eclectic mix of locals, students and tourists.
We were then going to visit another recommended hostelry but got side-tracked taking photos of Edinburgh at night as the photos below show.
Finally it was time to head back to the hotel. After all, tomorrow is another day …
