E2E Day 20 – Loch Ness to Inverness
E2E Day 20. Today an intrepid band of 8 set out on a scenic route to Inverness. We went back to Fort Augustus (about 9 miles) then round the other side of Loch Ness.
This took us up a steep hill that seemed to go on forever! We stopped by Loch Tarff for a bit of a rest.
There was then so more climbing but there were some great views from the summit.
Lunch was at the Waterfall Cafe by the Falls of Foyers.
With great views over Loch Ness. After lunch we walked down to look at the falls which were fairly impressive.
We then cycled on along the side of the Loch and then on into Inverness. This afternoon was rather a lot cooler than it has been and we all ended up digging out jackets to wear and keep the wind out.
This evening we ate at Little Italy Restaurant in Inverness, to celebrate Andy Shaw’s birthday (which was yesterday). It is also the last evening that the extra 5 (Andy, Neil, Des, Debbie & Sandra) are with us and we will be sad to see them go!
Only two more days cycling to go!
