E2E Day 12. Today is a day off and very welcome it is too!  Windermere Youth Hostel is actually at Troutbeck Bridge and has amazing views down across the valley and the lake.

The team has all been doing different things. However three of us went off for a walk in the sunshine this morning – Andy S, Andy P and I (Sarah). We set off for the local shop (down a steep hill) but then walked on further. We went along the side of the lake then into Bowness on Windermere.

We decided to stop there for lunch and found a lovely cafe called Aunt Val’s Tea Rooms, which did gluten free scones with jam & cream – which were fabulous!

We then had a visit to the local supermarket for supplies for tea. Had to get a taxi back with all the bags! It is going to be a roast chicken dinner followed either by fresh berries & yoghurt or trifle for those who prefer it. Sounds like everyone will be back for that – should I be surprised? Probably not, we had something similar last Sunday and everyone seemed to enjoy it!
