Cycling in Anglesey
From the Travelodge in Holyhead, we drove to Cemaes and parked in the car park by the harbour to begin a bit of cycling in Anglesey.
We cycled out of Cemaes and basically followed the coast line.
Past close to Wylfa power station, then past Cemlyn Bay.
We stopped at Mynachdy to eat our lunch. We only sat in the car park but the views we lovely.
As we cycled along we could see Holyhead across the bay.
As we came over the top of one rise, we were suprised to see a windmill! It was called Llynnon Mill and has aparently been restored by Anglesey council.
Our route was very scenic, passing all kinds of interesting places.
We stopped along the way for a coffee and a banana, as I was really tired and was struggling.
We arrived back to Cemaes from the opposite direction.
As we dropped down towards the harbour, there were great views of the bay.
The ride covered 33 miles and overall we climbed 2310 feet, which was mainly rolling countryside rather than any specific large hills.
Having got back to the Travelodge at Holyhead, we had a quick change and headed out to look round before it went dark.
The biggest attraction was St Cybi’s Church.
Holyhead is a town that seems to have a huge number of pubs!
We got an Indian takeway from a place on William Street called Curry Nights. It was excellent food and we would highly recommend it!
