Cromer – A Brew With a View
We had enjoyed Friday, Saturday and Sunday relaxing in East Anglia. Bank Holiday Monday was a further day for exploration including a trip to Cromer.
Cycling around Norwich
I had been determined to enjoy some cycling, and Monday morning was the opportunity.
We followed the Purple pedalway, one of a series of cycling routes around Norwich, this one encircling the city and being the longest.
The ride takes in a number of paths such as Lakenham Way, and outlying villages such as Cringleford, Eaton, Colney and Hellesdon.
Felbrigg Hall
In the afternoon we took ourselves off to Felbrigg Hall. Originally the home of the Felbrigg family, but probably best known as the seat of the Wyndham family. It is now a National Trust property.
The servants quarters were somewhat less ostentatious!
We then walked around the Herb Garden. This was fabulous!
Having visited the House and Herb Garden we decided on a walk around the grounds. There are a number of them, we picked the one that takes you past St Margaret’s Church, Felbrigg and the lake.
There is plenty to see and do at Felbrigg Hall, it would be easy to fill a full day. A recommended place to visit.
Cromer
We decided to finish the day off with fish and chips at Cromer.
First, however a trip along the pier was called for, and that ‘brew with a view’.
Having enjoyed some fish and chips from the Regency Chip shop, Sarah was now well in to the swing of things you do while at the seaside! An ice-cream was next on the list (I had have one too – just so she wouldn’t be eating on her own you understand!)
Finally it was dusk and time to head back to our Travelodge. We had packed in plenty, relaxed, and really enjoyed ourselves. Tomorrow would be our last day away.
