Coast & Castles North Day 1 – Edinburgh to Kinross
Sunday was our Coast and Castles North Day 1. However, before we did any cycling we had a trip around Edinburgh Castle which had been arranged by the lovely Ali.
Arriving at Edinburgh Castle, they were getting ready for the Royal Tattoo.
There were quite a number of military museum’s to look around.
This horse statue was moved to the Castle and recommissioned by the Princesses Royal.
The queue to see the Crown Jewels took us through an exhibition.
Andy decided to join in!
Having left the Castle we headed back to where we had stayed the previous night to collect our bikes and panniers.
We had lunch at the Omni Centre at a place called Toni Macaroni.
Having collected our bikes and luggage, it was time to set off!
We made our way out of Edinburgh.
We crossed over the Caledonian bridge, which had great views of the Forth bridge.
Having taken quite a number of pictures, we continued along the route.
Passing through Inverkeithing.
Having entered the Kingdom of Fife, we picked up a cycle route.
We passed through Townhill Country Park.
From Townhill we continued on to Bowershall.
We then dropped down towards Loch Leven.
We then cycled through Kinross.
We were staying at the Windlestrae Hotel in Kinross.
We had an evening meal at their sister hotel, Greens Hotel.
