SCCC Weekend – Day 2 Burnby Gardens

SCCC Weekend – Day 2 Burnby Gardens

Whilst the others had gone off cycling on Sunday, I went to visit Burnby Gardens which is near Pocklington. Not knowing anything about Burnby Gardens,  I was very pleasantly surprised when I got there! The lady at the reception told me that she hadn’t expected to see anyone due to the bad weather forecast, but there where quite a few people arriving at the same time as I did. Shugborough

The purpose of this visit was to spend a little time with Sarah’s friend Laurence and her family (Geoff, Danielle and Amber) who are briefly over from America visiting family, and staying…

Berwick-Upon-Tweed

Berwick-Upon-Tweed

After breakfast (at YHA Berwick) we waved goodbye to Neil and Des – they were getting a morning train home. However we had most of the day to look around Berwick-Upon-Tweed. We set off for a walk around the town, setting off along the river. Past the bridges, we reached the white wall and the remains of Berwick-Upon-Tweed castle. We climbed up and made our way onto the city walls and got some great views. Along the wall we reached…
