Conwy Half Marathon 2018 – And Other Activities

Conwy Half Marathon 2018 – And Other Activities

The Run Wales Conwy Half Marathon holds a special place in our running hearts. The 2013 version was the first half marathon we ever ran. A couple of years later, we ran our half marathon PB here when completing the 2015 version. Unfortunately, since then we have struggled with injuries and fitness. Last year, for example, although we had entered, following injury we weren’t ready and ended up volunteering instead (which was great in its own way!) This was the 10th anniversary of the event,…

Flintshire 10K

Flintshire 10K

Sunday was the Flintshire 10K event organised by Run Wales. After our visit on Saturday to the Blue Planet Aquarium, Andy and I drove over to  Holywell where we stayed over at the Hotel Victoria. Lyme Park 2015

Andy and I were concious that next week is the Stockport 10 (a 10 mile hilly run) and due to me being ill we haven’t done much training for it. As the club ride started at Rose Hill Station (Marple), we decided to run the Marple Parkrun first. As we arrived at Brabyns Park it was dry…

Chester – The Cathedral, the Christmas Market and the City Walls

Chester – The Cathedral, the Christmas Market and the City Walls

Our Chester weekend wasn’t our original plan. We had been due to attend a special family event, but this fell through. However we decided to continue with the idea of a weekend break anyway. Friday Since we didn’t leave Stockport until just after 12pm, we were hungry as soon as we arrived. We made our way over to Chester Cathedral in the hope that they had a cafe. Thankfully there was a refectory in the old monks dining hall so we tucked into…
