C-Lyme-b Park
The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club ride saw us taking a trip to Lyme Park. It was a cold but thankfully dry morning as 25 hardy club members met at Rose Hill.
Off we set along the Middlewood Way.
Past the former Higher Poynton Rail Station.
We came off the Middlewood Way and turned on to Springbank Lane.
Then up to Pott Shrigley.
We then followed Shrigley Road.
And in to the back of Lyme Park where we took a track up through Hase Bank Wood. This was a tough climb!
Thankfully it was then downhill to the Lyme Park tea room.
Then it was up the drive to Red Lane and Disley.
In Disley we followed Hegg Bank Lane. The view was glorious.
We picked up the Peak Forest canal.
We cycled back to Marple and Rose Hill.
This was quite a ‘lumpy’ ride and very muddy! Thanks to Neil for leading and Martyn for his usual sterling work at the back. The ride totalled nearly 16 miles, and Sarah and I cycled almost 28 miles by the time we got home. Another great day out on our bikes.
